Who made the first toy oven?
I had a toy oven in the late 1950s. This was before the Easy Bake Oven came out in 1963. Who made toy ovens before the 1960s?
Your question caught my eye, because I too had a toy oven & it was a gift in the early 1950′s. I can still picture that metal oven to this day. It was a creme color with red trim. At present, someone has one of the stoves on eBay, that they’re selling. It’s listed as the Vintage Tin Little Lady Toy Play Stove.
In the 1950′s, these cute little metal stoves were made by “The Metal Ware Corp,” which was located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. As you recall, these little stoves had to be plugged in & they did get warm. It had a heating element under the stove floor, that heated the metal.
